MareLife incorporates NASF in their organization and activities
NASF and Mare Life have joined forces since March 2009 and both concepts complement each other well. NASF covers the supply, marketing and finance, Mare Life covers Innovation. Today's marine players know that long-term planning and adaptability are essential for survival and that constant innovation is required to be in front. The current and future typical conference delegates will increase their demands towards compact business with an integrated component of innovation.
NASF 2011 moved to downtown Oslo, which will provide a significantly more compact and cost-effective arrangement. After discussion and review of the economic and strategic aspects, the MareLife board decided to take over the NASF and its brand, delegates and relational databases. Leading companies have already granted financial support to the concept and related conference series.

NASF is currently the world's largest seafood business conference with 450 delegates from 22 countries and 250 companies. Approximately 60% come from Scandinavia. NASF covers a wide range in the sector including market, supply, finance, and politics. NASF is now recognized as one of the most influential meeting places in the industry. This includes all key sectors such as salmon, whitefish, pelagic, ingredients in addition to corporate finance. NASF was started by Norway Trade Fairs (NV) in 2005 where the plan was to establish a new seafood exhibition associated TASTE exhibition. After the first exhibition in 2006, the concept of a fair was put on ice. NV decided to continue the NASF as a mere executive business conference and international meeting place. This new concept was a big success.

Norway Tradefairs: "After a detailed assessment, Norway Trade Fairs has resolved to divest our ownership of the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF). Jørgen J Lund, who has been head of the NASF since it was established in 2004, has accepted an offer to take over the event and continue to run it. First staged in 2005, this conference has developed over the past five years into an important meeting place for players in the North Atlantic seafood sector. It has been dubbed the “Davos summit” of this industry. With his many good contacts in the fishing and seafood industry, we are confident that Mr Lund will succeed in implementing the NASF to the same high standard as before, and in developing the conference so that the seafood industry can continue to assembly in this high-quality arena. Mr Lund has become a partner with Norscan-Partners AS, a professional business development group which brings together a number of well-known Norwegian business leaders. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our partners and supporters for their many positive contributions, which have helped to make the creation and development of the NASF possible to the benefit of the industry." |
NASF 2011 will be staged 2-3 March.
