Trace Tracker AS, a leading provider of traceability, is selected to deliver a new generation of electronic systems in the ERA-net project eTrace.
The purpose is to increase food security by automating data capture from the company's internal IT systems and sensors. The project focuses on the sharing of product data among supply chain-actors in Iceland, Norway and Sweden, through an industry standard called EPC Information Services (EPCIS). TraceTracker is currently involved in 3 major projects:
- eTrace: A project that is developing and testing information applications for the food industry based on EPCIS standard. The goal is to enhance food safety and supply chain efficiency. TraceTracker is providing expertise and EPCIS-based infrastructure to enable the testing and development process.
- eSporing: A massive project to develop an electronic traceability system for the entire country of Norway. TraceTracker was chosen as a subcontractor of ErgoGroup to provide traceability expertise and key components of the new infrastructure.
- TRACE: An 5-year EU project concerning food traceability, that involved 54 institutions and a budget of 12 million Euro. A final report from the project recognized the success of TraceTracker's software implementation at Hermes AS, a trawler in the North Sea. The trawler experienced an increase in profits as a direct result of the new system that displays catch and processing detail online for customers.
